K - Ok I don't have anything with K

K..no k...

So I will just do something I want to do.. hmmm ok KNOW
Know - this is a good one because you need to know where the jewelry came from, know what it is made of and know how it was made.. ok maybe I just need to know all of those things.

Know - I know that if something is to good to be true it generally is.
There is a huge difference between blow out sales, closing sales, buying wholesale and cheap
Cheap is cheap for a reason - one of them may be that they are just getting out there in the market and don't know how to price things...but trust me that does not last to long - once you figure out your overhead and all that fun stuff.. if you actually want to make a profit you have to sell it at a price that is still affordable but not where you are losing money.

The main reason things are cheap - because they are.

HUH? they are cheap, made cheap by cheap labour with cheap materials. What does that = ? Sucky product.
Sometimes you might get a product that is decent, and as long as you don't mind child labour or someone earning a buck a day then your set!

I have a problem with that. There are many reasons - one being because these people need to work and we take advantage of that by buying all of these things.. and trust me 90% if not more of your things are made in places like these. (Maybe not all child labour but its rather dramatic to say it)
Second reason I have a problem with that is this
Cheap Cheap < click me

Seriously there is no way anyone can make a product and sell it for that price - everything is imported. I spend more creating stuff then they are charging for some of their necklaces.
If you buy from that site I will bite you. :P I am kidding we all do what we can and if all we can do is afford a lower price then please at least pick something that doesn't look like something I make!

This isn't a political site even though I get irritated I really do not know enough to judge or try to educate others - so these opinions expressed by me are just that... opinions.

Ok now... Know what it is made out of - this can be a problem if you buy something from your local flea market or thrift shop which many of us do.. I do it to be destructive and use the really cool parts in my own stuff.
Problem is that you probably wont know what the chains are made of - could be nickle could be pretty much anything. The only way to know when it is made of sterling silver or gold or something like that is for it to be stamped - unless you are educated on how to tell which I am not - So for sterling silver there would be and SS or a 925 stamped on it usually near the clasp, gold you would see 14kg or 18, 24 what ever it is... sometimes you might see 14kgp meaning its plated with gold. As for other stamps well I am still learning. If you find a stamp just look it up online and see what the gold ole internet has to say!

Oh btw just to throw a monkey wrench in to the mess of things... anyone if they have the proper materials can stamp metal - so your 925 stamp might just be placed there....
Buy from someone you trust - if it is too good to be true.. well I already mentioned that.
